We’re talking about self-aware thinking. This is a good thing as long as you can stay on autopilot, do something about the habits that control your brain, make plans, and do something about how you interact with your neighbors.
Well, this is a good thing. Most of the time we can do this on autopilot too. You just have to make conscious choices about how you relate to the world and how you act (and the world acts on you, of course).
One way we can control things is to not be so self-obsessed. We can use this knowledge to create an environment that is conducive to self-awareness and our ability to do things in our own self-interest. For example, when I’m driving, I try to stay aware of my surroundings. I tend not to drive fast on busy intersections, so I try to pay attention to the road in front of me and wait for traffic to clear before I drive.
The same goes for when we talk about being self-aware. If I were to write the entire list of things that I was self-aware of, it would include: the three letters we type on the Internet, the way I eat, the fact that I have a pet, what I wear, and the number of days I have been out of the house in the last year.
The things that we call self-awareness really boil down to awareness of our own actions, habits, and routines. In other words, it’s the knowledge that we’re aware of our thoughts, emotions, and feelings. If all you know is that you’re aware of yourself, then you don’t know much, or if you do, it’s mostly what you can see and feel.
That’s why it is so important to be aware of what you are doing because when you are, you have a chance to control who you are and what you are doing. So the way to become aware of your actions (and habits, emotions, and feelings) is to pay attention to your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The key is to be aware of your thought patterns. You can’t control your thoughts. You can’t control your feelings.
I know there are a lot of reasons why you dont want to control your thoughts, but you dont have time to do it, and they are very important. If you dont like what you see, that’s because you dont have the time to make a choice, or choose to be brave. If you dont like what you see, you dont have the time to make the choice.
You should feel free to express your feelings, but you should not be afraid to be sad. You need to feel like you have the right to feel anything that you want. If you don’t, then you’re just not having it, or it just isn’t true.
These are all good points, and this is why we recommend regular emotional self-awareness. We often tend to think that our emotions are completely separate from our thoughts, but this is just not true. Thoughts are just thoughts, and feelings are just feelings. They are, just like, the same thing.
We know this is important because we often get the “negative thinking” response when we have a good, solid, good feeling about something, for example, “My teacher just told me I’m doing well in my school work.” That is not what happened. That is what we know, and that is why we have to let go of the idea that our emotions are “real” and we need to learn to recognize them as such.
